Osmorhiza longistylis - Licorice Root/Sweet Anise

Picture
This plant is similar to Sweet Cicely, but plants are anise scented and the styles are much longer than petals.  The stem is nearly smooth.  There are small umbels of white flowers when in bloom.

This plant flowers April-June, and is found in moist woods.
