The kingdom Animalia consists of all the animals on earth.  This includes the insects, mammals, reptiles, fish, birds, jellyfish, sponges, corals, and many other species.  It is estimated that the number of species in the kingdom animalia is over 7.5 million, and more species are being discovered every year.  Here is a list of some of the members of animalia and the estimated number of species contained in each classification category:

  • Crustaceans: 40,000
