Erigeron philadelphicus (Philadelphia Fleabane)
This plant grows from 8 to 28 inches tall. The basal leaves are oblanceolate to obovate, coarsely toothed or lobed, and less than 6 inches long. The stem leaves are alternate, clasping, usually toothed, and reduced upward. The inflorescence is a corymb, usually with numerous heads. The flowers have a flat, yellow center, with white, fringe-like rays.
The plant flowers from April to July. It is common, and is found in fields, lawns, roadsides, and waste areas.
