This plant grows from 4 to 8 inches tall. it is a rock-loving perennial that sends up a single flowering branch that has several shorter, leafier, non-flowering branches. The succulent, light green leaves are arranged alternately or in whorls of three. The stem is creeping. The lower leaves are flat. The long, lanceolate, white petals are twice the length of the sepals. The flowers have 5 pointed petals and occur in a three-branched, terminal cluster.
The Wild Stonecrop is found in damp, rocky woods and cliffs, especially in limestone areas. It flowers from April to June.
